Why create banners for strangers? It's a Ego thing.

Well, it’s official: what started as a company venture has become a merely personal project: Egaroo.com

After all, I’m just stating here what I’ve been doing the last 6 months: seeking interesting websites, creating banners and uploading them to my little directory, witch has become sort of a visual list of all my favorites.

The point is nobody has asked me to do this, witch could be only understand as a very personal approach to share my findings to the world.

Just like you people add text links in your blogs to interesting sites you have found, I decided simply to make it the hard way.

My goal now is to keep creating clean and acceptable designed banners (using existing visual elements from every site) to make my searches easier and more attractive. Quite a long bookmarked sites list to feed my directory…

Why create banners for total strangers, you may ask. Well, first of all is a aesthetical thing; this way I rest assure only acceptable designed banners (and content relevant sites) will be listed at Egaroo.com. Secondly, not lots of people or webmasters know about egaroo, so they can’t ask me to review their sites and create a banner for them, or do it themselves by creating an account and uploading their own banner.

(By the way, if you own any of the sites listed here feel free to contact me in order to give you your personal Log In info to access your profile and manage your cool banner from there).

So far I have created, tagged and uploaded almost 500 banners (at least 75 more have been uploaded by external users), and my plans are keep working on my long list of ever-growing favorites. An endless task, I know, with hundreds of thousands websites worth listing and just 5 hours a day (after my day job –witch regularly ends at 7-8 PM), but I’m starting to get addicted to it… It’s so cool believe this effort could be useful to others fellow surfers.

So far, so good. Need to go back to work on new banners…

Want me to review your site and create a banner for you? (I won’t ever charge for that).
Contact me. I’ll add your site to my list, it will take sometime but eventually you’ll find it uploaded.

Cheers.

It's really strange thing why people are afraid of creating banners for others. It is one of my main businesses and I think I doing really well with it.
